Alison Krauss
Alison Krauss, a bluegrass fiddler hailing from Tennessee, at the age of 19, became a national celebrity in 1990 after receiving the Grammy Award in 1990 for Best Bluegrass Album. Krauss's third studio album I've Got That Old Feeling was awarded the prize despite the fact she was barely 19 years of age. Her debut album, Too Late to Cry, was released when the Champaign, Illinois, native was 16; she had been signed to Rounder Records, which is among the most prestigious folk music labels on the market--at the age of fourteen. Her achievements at such a young age and astounding virtuosity have consistently been measured by her devotion to bluegrass. Bluegrass is one of the oldest and possibly the most neglected in traditional American music forms. Krauss as young phenom had matured into a musician and producer.
